The OT Narrative..Brueggemann
“The Old Testament, in its theological propensity, refused .. monitoring by the reasonable and the logical, or even by the empirical. Old Testament rhetoric characteristically takes great liberty in moving away from, beyond, and in contradiction to “sober reality”.. (Walter Brueggemann, Theology of the Old Testament, etc.).

The point here I believe, is that the OT is not a piece of physical science (in itself), but the theological reality of the spiritual life and doctrine of God! This is the foremost reality of the narrative framework of the Holy Scripture, especially in the OT. Here is the biblical rhetoric, imagination and really the crucial spirit of the OT… in the dramatic of the quote: “theo-drama”, of the OT faith itself. Indeed, promise & fulfillment, deliverance and certainly covenant! In the end, we must measure the revelation of God, in the weight & reality of a theological datum. Always as later Jesus spoke, “in Spirit and truth”!
