Anglicanism, historically both Catholic and Reformed.
Anglicanism is reformed Catholicism. Thomas Cranmer, the Archbishop of Canterbury in the time of King Henry VIII, was able to bring Martin Luther’s rediscovery of justification by faith alone into the heart of the Church of England. And thus it is both “catholic” and “reformed” in an Evangelical Church. Also the Book of Common Prayer with the Thirty-Nine Articles, stand central here also.
But, the great question today, is where is this Church and historical Communion? And does the English and British form of this church still exist? And thus what of the Archbishop of Canterbury, does this holy office still present this holy faith? Great and certain questions those called Anglicans, and especially English Anglicans must ask themselves!
