The Jerusalem Connection: Jesus and Israel…

January 22, 2016

“Though sadly Jesus is still seen largely as God of the Gentiles, Jewish eyes have gradually been opened. It is believed, for example, that there were as many as 100,000 Jewish followers of Jesus at the outbreak of World War II in 1939. Tragically, many of them would have perished in Hitler’s gas chambers. But out of the ashes of the Holocaust, we not only have a re-born nation of Israel, but a growing number of so-called Messianic fellowships bringing Jesus back to where he belongs…There will come a time when, back in the land of promise and delivered from bondage in a hostile world, all Israel will recognize Yeshua, their Messiah. (Zechariah 12.10, Romans 11.26) What a day that will be – life from the dead as he who was despised and rejected of men is revealed to his brothers alive… and as Lord of all!”

God says: “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.”… “On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse from sin and impurity.”… “And it shall come to pass in that day that the remnant of Israel, and such as have escaped of the house of Jacob, but will depend on Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the Mighty God. For though your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, a remnant of them will return.”… “And so, all Israel will be saved.” (Zechariah 12:10; 13:1; Isaiah 10:20-22: Romans 11:26)

The Jerusalem Connection says: Sadly, the veil of unbelief (II Corinthians 3:14-17) that dulls the minds of many Jews today will only be removed when they are faced with unprecedented catastrophes. Then it will only occur when Yahweh woos and enables them, (John 6:44, 65) through the faithful witness of emboldened followers of Yeshua. As a prelude to that glad day, Christian (Zionists) must buck the winds of anti-Semitism blowing through evangelicals, as well as secular humanist mankind, and be “a friend that sticks closer than a brother.” For, “a friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” (Proverbs 18:24; 17:17)

  1. Amen, in the classic, historical and biblical sense the Jews and the Jewish people are our “Brethren”, since Jesus/Yeshua is the Jewish Messiah! How can we not but love them! Jesus is still a Jew, but the KING of the Jews and Israel! It was for this witness that He died, with this charge written over His head on the Cross!
