Israel’s Christian Minority: “Arameans” (Jersualem Connection).

Israel’s Christian Minority
By Shadi Khalloul, Gatestone Institute—

Last year, Israel recognized the existence of a group of Christians — “Arameans” — within its borders; an act that no Arab or Muslim nation from the Middle East has ever done or would ever do. Israel recognized a distinct religious and ethnic group: the indigenous people of the ancient Fertile Crescent.

Their language, Aramaic, was the language spoken by Jesus centuries before Islam came to the region.

Israel not only supports and gives Christians and other minorities — Druze, Muslims, Baha’i, everyone — full civil rights, freedom and legal rights to exist peacefully and practice their faith as they wish, but also to develop themselves as a minority with all the implications of differences in culture. Arabs, for instance, are welcomed into the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), but are not, as opposed to Jews, required to serve. Israel’s founding Prime Minister, David Ben Gurion, humanely did not want Arabs to feel as if they were obliged fight their “brothers.”

In Israel, members of the Christian and Muslim minorities fill all types of high positions — just as any Jewish Israeli who wishes to have a successful career. There is the Maronite Christian Supreme Court Judge, Salim Jubran.

Contrary to propaganda, there is no “Apartheid” of any kind, and no roads on which only Jews may travel. Those roads are in Saudi Arabia, which has real Apartheid roads, since only Muslims may travel to Mecca. Read on…

One that calls for a response

Pastor Rafael Cruz, father of Senator Ted Cruz said: “The foundation of America, the foundation of the constitution, was the Torah, the Torah is embedded within the constitution. That was the inspiration for the framers.”… “Many of the freedoms that we have today were enjoyed in that early Jewish state after Abraham came to the promised land, and God gave him a promise. “As a matter of fact do you realize that Israel is the only country on the face of the earth that has a titled deed from God Almighty? … “Don’t tell me that Israel does not have a right to the land. God himself gave Israel the title deed for the land. Christians would not have the Bible without Israel, and all must realize that we are one in Him, that both Christians and Jews worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”… “Replacement theology is a heresy… “How can you extrapolate all of the promises in the word of God that are specific for Israel, that talk specifically about the land of Israel and the Jewish people, and how can anyone with two ounces of sense think that ‘we are the new Israel’? That is heresy. Israel is the apple of God’s eye, it is the chosen people.”

Cruz also took the opportunity to talk about his son’s connection to Israel, saying proudly that Ted Cruz was the “strongest supporter of Israel on Capitol Hill” and enumerating the ways in which the Texas senator would be a friend to the Jewish state if elected. “My son has said not only that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel, but he has promised in his first day in office, to begin the process to move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem where it needs to be.”

God says: “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will blessed through you.”… “Select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. Have them serve as judges for the people at all times, but have them bring every difficult case to you; the simple cases they can decide themselves. That will make your load lighter, because they will share it with you.” (Genesis 12:3; Exodus 18:21-22)

The Jerusalem Connection says: The position the next president takes regarding Israel may well be a determining factor in terms of how God deals with America. Under the Obama administration, we have come perilously close to cursing Israel – and we are dealing with some of the consequences of that. Witness the rise and impact of ISIS. It is imperative that our next president restore the vital kinship we have with Israel, both politically and spiritually. A leftist leadership committed to secular humanism, with its worship of multiculturalism, situational ethics and political correctness, will certainly cause our relationship to Israel to suffer – hence the coming of the curse. God’s people must pray and act to see that this does not happen.
