Jersusalem Connection and Donald Trump…

June 11, 2016

One that calls for a response

‘Donald Trump, in answer to the question, “Who do you say Jesus is?” said: “Jesus to me is Somebody I can think about for security and confidence,” he said. “Somebody I can revere in terms of bravery and in terms of courage and, because I consider the Christian religion so important, Somebody I can totally rely on in my own mind.”… “As you know, I am Presbyterian and Protestant. I’ve had great relationships and developed even greater relationships with ministers. We have tremendous support from the clergy. I think I will be doing very well during the election with evangelicals and with Christians.”

God says: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name (than Jesus) under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”… “Now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it—the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”… “Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (Acts 4:12; Romans 3:21-24; John 14:6)

The Jerusalem Connection says: While we may not be electing a pastor as president, we should be able to expect him/her to know who Jesus is. It’s pretty clear, He is the Son of the living God, our Savior who pardons all our sins and our Redeemer. After all, our acceptance into God’s heaven is not rocket science, “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Yahweh,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.’” (Romans 10:9-10)’

*It is NO secret that I am NOT a Trump fan!  He is surely NOT a true conservative, nor a true lover of Israel in my opinion!

  1. Your concerns are well grounded. I think those same reservations were expressed about our current President 8 years ago. America has had such shameful conduct from both parties over the past twenty years that I now appreciate Ephesians 2:18-20 far more than I once did. “18 For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,”

Fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God ruled by our benevolent, just and loving Head who has never and will never be stained by hypocrisy, lying or ambition.

    Luther said it best –

    Let goods and kindred go
    This mortal life also
    The body they may kill
    God’s truth abideth still
    His Kingdom is forever…..

    Keep looking up…

    • Indeed the problem in the West has been pressed for sometime now, it is part of the moral and intellectual loss in the whole of Western Culture, i.e. modernity & postmodernity. The British have lost ground here for quite some time!
