Eschatology Definition…

August 10, 2016

Eschatology is the branch of theology that is concerned with the ultimate or last things, such as death, judgment, heaven, and hell. But it also includes the Prophetic of the End Times themselves, and here biblically we must also deal with National Israel, that state and reality of the Body or Nation of Israel, political and their physical territory, and of course their Covenant/covenantal place and promises of God in the Holy Scripture.

As St. Paul says in Romans: “So, as much as is in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also the Greek/Gentile.” (Romans 1: 15-16) And of course in Paul’s day the Roman Empire ruled the then known world!  (This is my own simple, biblical and somewhat theological definition of Eschatology.)

*We Gentiles only come into the Covenant Promises and Blessings of National and Biblical Israel!  (Eph. 2: 11-12 ; noting also verses 13 thru 22). They (the Jews) are still the Chosen and Covenant People of God – Romans 3: 1-2 ; 9: 1-5! (See too, 1 Cor. 10: 32) And there is not a whiff of “supersessionism” or replacement theology here!

  1. Yes, the Jews as a people are at present in a state of unbelief generally, (2 Cor. 3: 13-16, etc.) but there have always been Jews who have come to their Messiah & Christ, who is Jesus/Yeshua: a masculine name btw, and of course the ‘Lord of Glory’ as Paul called Him! (1 Cor. 2: 8). And there is a Day-Coming when a certain Remnant of Jews will come to Jesus Christ, even now we are seeing more and more Messianic Jews who are coming to Jesus the Christ and Messiah of God!

*I maintain that no true biblical Christian (Judeo-Christian) can hate the Jewish People, the people of the Messiah and Lord of Life!
