Holy Scripture Reading, 1 Corinthians 1: 18, NIV.

September 7, 2016

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1 Cor. 1: 18, NIV)
Read 1 Cor. 1: 18-25

*Indeed the only people that are being saved (present tense) are those who are under the complete power (Dunamis, Gk.) of God. God is saving those He loves and has chosen. There are three tenses in our Salvation: past-present-future! And only GOD works out all three! But we say Amen all the way!

See also 1 Cor. 1: 26-31, the calling, work and glory are all the Lord’s!  – “That no flesh (anyone) should glory in HIS presence!” (Verse 29) Of course glory in themselves, the glory of our Christian righteousness, holiness and redemption is the Lord’s alone! (Fr. R.)
