NAS Verse of the Day

Verse of the Day
October 29
Romans 8:15
15 “For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”
Read Romans 8

*Yes “Abba Father”, the sweet name of our God and Father! And the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  And I believe myself in the Monarchy and Regal nature of the Father too. The Father is the eternal source of the Godhead, from Whom the Son is begotten eternally and also from Whom the Holy Spirit proceeds eternally. ~

  1. A monotheistic Trinitarianism!

    • Btw, just how in the world the Mormon’s came up with Tritheism…three gods? And especially that the Father has a separate body, is surely NOT biblical, as Jesus said:”God is Spirit, and those who worship Him MUST worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4: 24). But Trinitarian error prevails in much of Christendom! And sadly so many Christians are simply ignorant of the Triune God! That God is one being (essence, from esse, “to be”) is, from the biblical background, axiomatic: One Being, Three Persons! Yes, this is one of the greatest biblical mysteries of the Bible! But an essential one to my belief.

      • Btw, let us worship here, as well as use our hearts & minds: ‘Father, Son, Holy Spirit’! Titus 3: 4 thru 6 is one of my favorite texts here!

      • And yes outright denial of the great Trinity of God is grave error to my mind, as generally the history of the true Church Catholic invokes it. Loss here can be eternal! (2 John 3 ; 7-9)

*And Trinitarian error is not always outright denial, but it can be, and also lead there. Again my two-cents anyway. And I would surely recommend Augustine’s great book on The Trinity (De Trinitate). See the 1991 edition from the Augustinian Heritage Institute, (New City Press, Brooklyn, New York). Though I also like certain Eastern Orthodox authors on the Trinity here also!

      • And the idea, how dumb can I be and still be a regenerate Christian? Is an awful line to approach! Matthew 7: 13-23, etc. comes to mind.
