NAS Verse of the Day

Verse of the Day
December 23
Galatians 4:4-5
4 “But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, 5 so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.”
Read Galatians 4

*Galatians 4:4-5, etc. is certainly one of my personal Pauline favorites… “But when came the fullness of the time, sent forth of Him [from God the Father]…God the Son, having come from a [Jewish] woman, having come under Law (literal translation).  God’s full purpose & plan, true and full Christianity is always and forever Jewish, i.e. Law & Gospel!

  1. In everywhere we look at God’s Law & Gospel we see God’s good and great Moral Law! But, again this is NOT man’s law, but God’s, in grace and glory!

    • Tomorrow is the Vigil of the Nativity of our Lord…O God, who makest us glad with the yearly Expectation of the birth of thine only Son Jesus Christ : grant that as we joyfully receive him for our Redeemer, so may we with sure confidence behold him when He shall come to be our Judge. Who liveth and reigneth with thee. (Anglican Collect) See, Romans 1: 1.

*Some liturgy with Holy Scripture is always good at this time of year!
