Netanyahu: Paris Confab is rigged
By Rina Bassist and Herb Keinon, JPost—

The Middle East parley scheduled in Paris on Sunday is a “rigged conference” that will do nothing to promote the cause of peace, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday.

Netanyahu’s comments came before a meeting with visiting Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Bende, who is among the 40 foreign ministers expected to attend. All told, some 75 counties are expected to send delegations, with Secretary of State John Kerry leading the US delegation.

A Palestinian delegation will be in Paris, but is not necessarily expected to be at the summit. Israel has opposed the meeting, insisting that the only way to achieve a twostate solution is through direct talks.

“We’re all faced here with a great challenge against the forces of terrorism that not only seek to destroy Israel but seek of course to render any possibility of peace totally hopeless,” Netanyahu said alongside Brende.

“There are other such efforts that render peace hopeless and one of them is the Paris conference,” he said, repeating hislong-standing, harsh opposition to the conference.

“It’s a rigged conference, rigged by the Palestinians with French auspices to adopt additional anti-Israel stances,” he added. “This pushes peace backward. It’s not going to obligate us. It’s a relic of the past. It’s a last gasp of the past before the future sets in.”

The future that Netanyahu was alluding to is apparently the inauguration of US President- elect Donald Trump in the upcoming week. Read on…

One that calls for a response

Lance Goodall said: “On January 15th, representatives from 70 different countries will gather in Paris, France for an unprecedented global conference. The stated goal of this conference is to promote a “two-state solution” as the way that lasting peace will be brought to the Middle East. In Israel, there is a tremendous amount of concern that whatever is agreed upon at this conference will immediately be used as the basis for a UN Security Council resolution that would permanently divide the land of Israel and create a Palestinian state…The UN Security Council resolution that was passed on Friday (December 23, 2016) was one of the most significant events that we have witnessed in decades. Resolution 2334 made all Israeli settlements in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem illegal, it set the 1967 ceasefire lines as the border between the Israelis and the Palestinians, and it granted every single inch of East Jerusalem to the Palestinians. But it stopped short of giving official UN Security Council recognition to a Palestinian state, and that is why this conference on January 15th is so important.”

God says: “They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. ‘Peace, peace,’ they say, when there is no peace. Are they ashamed of their detestable conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when I punish them,” says Yahweh.”…“For you know very well that the Day of Yahweh will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.” (Jeremiah 6:14-15; I Thessalonians 5:2-3)

The Jerusalem Connection says: These “Paris Peaceniks” are like blind, drunk lemmings stumbling to their own destruction – and it will come. The fact that neither Israel nor the Palestinians will have representatives at this conference totally invalidates the meeting. If there is ever any peace in the Israeli – Palestinian conflict (which there won’t be) it would have to be negotiated between the disputants. It is all pointing to the fast approaching day when God will gather all nations against Israel, (70 nations is a good start) but the coming/return of Jesus our Messiah will intervene for the salvation of Israel. (Zechariah 14:1-5) In the meantime all Christian Zionists will be interceding with our Israeli kinsmen with the prayer of Psalm 123:3-4, “Have mercy on us O Yahweh, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt. We have endured much ridicule from the proud, much contempt from the arrogant”…In Jesus’ name AMEN!
