The Visible Church Today…

August 12, 2017

Surely the Visible and Historical Church of Jesus Christ is in dreadful condition today, and both from within and without!  Yes, there are pockets of faithful and regenerate Christians thank God, but basically the culture today is in most certain apostasy, and it will only get worse!  – Of course in my biblical & theological opinion – but I am certainly not alone here.  And as I have said over and over the major problem also comes from the biblical and basic theological illiteracy of the historical & visible church today!  If I could give every Christian I know a copy of the NIV Study Bible, especially the 2012 edition and NIV translation I would.  But of course this is not possible nor really workable, for the will of the general, visible and western Christianity is in a great spiritual down-word spiral!  Again the visible church is in a terrible place of being lukewarm to say the least, note Revelation 3: 14-22!  But of course again to say such things today is NOT popular at all, especially pastorally!  But there it is! (Fr. R.)

*Not even to mention the basic and general low-ebb of the so-called pastoral leadership today!  But, I will leave this to God’s regenerate people today, to think and judge!

“I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.” (Isa. 62: 6-7, NIV, 2012)  Of course I quote this by application, not in myself.

PS.. Btw too, when we look for example at the Book of Lamentations, we understand with the author these Laments are clearly with/from the Babylonians, who were merely the human agents of God’s divine judgment!  And in our day, with apostasy, what will God The Almighty choose to do with our age?

  1. Btw, the Neo-Babylonian Empire (626-539, B.C.), the Babylonians, while continuing the militaristic tradition of Assyria, created an astonishing renaissance of Sumero-Akkadian civilization, led of course by Nebuchadnezzar. But, it was still godliness, as has become our postmodern culture!
