1 Corinthians 15:20-22

New International Version

“But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.”

O Merciful God, who hast made all men, and hatest nothing that thou hast made, nor desirest the death of a sinner, but rather that he should be converted and live: Have mercy upon thine ancient people the Jews, and upon all who have not known thee, or who deny the faith of Christ crucified. Take from them all ignorance, hardness of heart, and comtempt of thy Word ; and so fetch them home, blessed Lord, to thy fold, that we may be made one flock under one shepherd, Jesus Christ our Lord ; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God world without end. Amen. (Anglican Collect)

*Jesus Christ went into the depth of death & judgment, see 1 Peter 3: 18 thru 20, etc. to save those who would come to believe!  Note verse 19… “in which also He went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison.” Indeed Jesus was even then Victor and the Victory by Death on the Cross! . . . (Even death could not hold HIM!)
